My last shift before my leave was a rather nice 8 hour shift at Oakwood, doing sunlight duties. The only gripe was that they replaced the benches during the week, so there's no longer a bench on the sunlight/shade border, which meant baking in the sun or having a longer walk to the sunlit part of the platform, which is where I generally stand to give the right. I'd also made the dire mistake of wearing my trousers instead of a skirt. By the end of the shift I'd waved out 118 trains and was dying to get home and get changed, as one might imagine! (Instead we spent an hour in Tesco. *sigh!*) There was no other real excitement apart from a train that started to leave the other platform, shuddered to a halt, and then got going again without a hitch. The service was pretty much perfect all day - a steady Heathrow, Heathrow, Uxbridge, Heathrow, Heathrow, Rayners Lane pattern with average intervals. Only once did a Heathrow and Rayners Lane get swapped round. Oh, and one idiot who got his bag trapped in the doors. Otherwise, normal.
